Hokkaido Shinkansen Kutchan Station (Niseko) scheduled to open in 2030

The Hokkaido Shinkansen is a line that stretches about 360 km from Shin-Aomori Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen to Sapporo Station.

On March 26, 2016, the 148 km section between Shin-Aomori and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto opened, and construction is underway for the 212 km section from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto to Sapporo, which is scheduled to open at the end of fiscal year 2030.

It takes two hours by car from Sapporo Station to Niseko, but it will only take 25 minutes by Shinkansen.

By the way, once it opens, it will take 4 hours and 30 minutes from Sapporo Station to Tokyo Station. It will take about 4 hours from Tokyo Station to Niseko.
